Holy Smoke – Palo Santo Wood Sticks | naturally & sustainably harvested
Some call it holy wood. We call it the beginning.
Palo Santo burns differently from incense sticks. You light the wood, let the flame live for a moment, blow it out — and what remains is a warm, resinous smoke with notes of citrus, mint, and pine. A scent you won't forget. A scent that has been used for centuries in South American ceremonies to clear spaces and open the mind.
Holy Smoke consists of six hand-cut Palo Santo sticks made from naturally fallen wood. No tree is cut down for this incense — Palo Santo only develops its essential oils once the wood has dried naturally. This takes years. But it is precisely this patience that you can smell.
What is Palo Santo used for?
Palo Santo is traditionally used for the energetic cleansing of spaces — when moving into a new home, after an argument, before meditation, or simply when the air feels heavy. In aromatherapy, Palo Santo is known for its calming yet clarifying effect. Many use the holy wood as part of their daily mindfulness practice or yoga routine.
How to use Palo Santo
Hold a stick at an angle over a flame until it catches fire. Let it glow for 30 seconds, then gently blow out the flame. Place the glowing wood in a fireproof dish — such as our Quiet Vessel incense holder. The smoke will rise on its own and spread throughout the room. One stick can be lit multiple times.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Palo Santo and how is it used?
Palo Santo ("holy wood") is the resinous heartwood of a South American tree. It is lit, the flame blown out – the wood glows and releases warm, resinous smoke. Used for space clearing and spiritual rituals.
Is Palo Santo endangered?
Palo Santo itself isn't endangered, but local stocks suffer from overuse. Our Palo Santo comes from certified sustainable sources – only naturally fallen branches are harvested, never living trees.
How does it differ from incense sticks?
Palo Santo is pure wood – no binder, no fragrance, nothing synthetic. The scent is warm, spicy and natural. Incense sticks are more compact and burn longer, Palo Santo acts faster and purer.
