Falling Smoke – Natural Backflow Incense Cones in a Tin | Hand-formed, for Waterfall Burners
The smoke that falls. Again and again.
Falling Smoke are natural backflow incense cones — specially shaped so that the smoke does not rise, but flows downwards. Like mist over a lake. Like clouds gliding down a mountainside. Developed for our Dark Summit backflow burner and all other waterfall incense holders.
Each cone is handcrafted from pure wood and herb powder and comes in a resealable tin — so the scent stays fresh, even if you take your time between rituals. No plastic, no synthetic fragrances. Just natural incense that does what it has done for centuries.

How backflow incense works
Backflow cones have a small hollow channel inside. This makes the smoke denser and heavier than the ambient air — and causes it to flow downwards instead of upwards. Place the cone on a backflow burner, light the tip, blow out the flame after a few seconds and observe the waterfall effect. For the best result: draft-free room, level surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are backflow incense cones?
Backflow cones have a continuous channel through the inside. The heavier cooled smoke flows downward through this channel, creating the waterfall effect – instead of rising like with regular cones.
How long does a backflow cone burn?
A Falling Smoke backflow cone burns for about 15 to 25 minutes. The waterfall effect starts after 1-2 minutes, once enough smoke has built up in the burner.
Do these cones fit other burners?
Falling Smoke backflow cones fit all waterfall burners with a standard hole size (about 5-7 mm diameter). They were designed for our Dark Summit burner but work universally.
